EPA Issues Ammonia Refrigeration Enforcement Alert

USEPA recently issued an enforcement alert intended to inform the industry that companies must take responsibility to prevent accidental releases of dangerous chemicals like anhydrous ammonia through compliance with Risk Management Programs (RMP). In this alert EPA also calls attention to the General Duty Clause which applies facility-wide, regardless of the amount of chemical stored so even if you are below 10,000 pounds you still have responsibilities under RMP.
